Yvan's Caninsulin dose has not changed

This is the third in a series of BG (blood glucose) charts for Yvan, Terrier Mix puppy. Notice the dramatic improvement from the first two curves.

The numbers here are still just a bit high, but very acceptable, at least temporarily. The shape of the curve is ideal; it looks like a smile, and there are no sharp nor steep drops nor climbs.

Vertical lines right at the Y-Axis show time of feeding and time of insuiln given.

Yvan was spayed two days after this curve. She was on an insulin drip during the procedure. She came through with flying colors! Way to go, Yvan!

Notice the weight gain from the previous curve, on 28 April 2009, when Yvan weighed 2.6 Kg (5.7 pounds. Here, Yvan is up to 3 Kg (6.6 pounds).

Yvan has been on 4.0 iu (International Units) of Caninsulin (which is the same stuff as Vetsulin) at least since 14 April 2009.

Yvan's Human DogMum and DogDad are clearly taking very good care of her!

Tracking Yvan's curves

To make it easier to follow progress in a dog featured here, I am adding a kind of tracking list, which merely links to other charts for the same dog.

  2. Yvan 2
  3. Yvan 3
  4. Yvan 4

CLAIMER: Content here results from my personal experience, as instructed by my fabulous veterinarians and veterinary technicians, and also, as instructed by Kumbi. Even Kwali gets a word in edgewise. We use the Lip-Stick. There are other locations you can prick for blood; I do not myself use them, but there are web resources that show them.
